MDG-F programmes presented at International Ecology Fair

 

Achievements and future actions of three MDG-F Programme Culture for Development, Programme Environment and Climate Change and Programme Democratic Economic Governance of Water Access were presented to representatives of the chambers of commerce from the region and neighboring countries as well as BiH municipalities at the 8th International Eco-Fair in Bihać, on September 3rd, 2010.


Practical examples of rehabilitation of the old cities and museum-houses in Jajce, Tešanj and Srebrenik through MDG-F Programme Culture for Development were presented by the municipal coordinators. Additionally, gathered audience learned about the goals and planned activities of other two recently initiated programmes through presentations of Slobodan Tadić and Siniša Rodić, National Programme Managers/Coordinators.


Nijaz Lipovača, representative of Bihać Municipality stated that these presentations complement the overall goal of the Ecology Fair and expressed satisfaction with results of the MDG-F Programmes and future plans which will further enhance the capacities of the local communities in advancing towards the achievement of Millennium Development Goals.


MDG-F Programmes are financed by the Government of Kingdom of Spain through the Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only country in the region which is currently implementing total of four MDG-F programmes.
