The Khayma, or desert tent, is a central part of the culture of the Hassani bedouins of Morocco. The MDG-F supports a women's cooperative of tent-weavers to help boost women's incomes, promote tourism and preserve Hassani traditions. The project is part of a joint UN programme to help fight poverty by strengthening Morocco's cultural heritage and creative industries, focusing particularly on women and youth.
