Miao Bamboo flute dance

Girls from the Miao minority of Dangweng village in Guizhou province, southwest China, performing the popular Lusheng (bamboo flute) dance to celebrate the Miao New Year.


The MDG-Fund is working with ethnic minorities like the Miao, which represent some of China’s poorest and most vulnerable populations, to protect and use their unique cultures for economic development, including tourism.
