Recycling to save Ecuador's rainforest

Members of the Orellana Recycling Association sorting through some of the 34 tonnes of waste that are produced every day by their town in the heart of Ecuador's Amazon rainforest. The project is an MDG-F-funded joint programme which is helping to preserve the environment and improve the quality of life of communities in the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve, one of the world's most biodiverse areas.
