Philippines: the young and the jobless

 

 

An estimated 2.8 million Filipinos are jobless, and more than half of these are young people. Experts blame this on the the high cost of searching for jobs, the lack of necessary skills and appropriate government policies and programs.

How are governments and companies can help address the supply and demand mismatch in the labor market, especially for the youth? Lawrence Jeff Johnson, country director for the International Labor Organization, appears on ANC to discuss the challenges in the labor market.
